The Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport is an asset to the City of Amarillo, the Texas and Oklahoma panhandle areas and eastern New Mexico. There are ongoing efforts to keep this facility a first class operation. A major terminal renovation was recently completed. This project included replacement of the heating/air conditioning systems, a consolidation of the passenger gate area, new glass walled passenger boarding bridges and a fully automated baggage handling system. Future terminal projects include a terminal area drainage project and improvements to the rental car service center with the object of improving overall customer service.
